FOUNDER AND CEO

Prabhjot S. Bhatia, affectionately known as Prabh, is a dynamic and results-oriented marine engineering professional with over 40 years of experience in the marine industry. He holds a master’s degree in marine engineering and has a career that spans various high-impact roles, showcasing his extensive expertise and leadership to steer the large-scale shipbuilding project teams.

Prabhjot began his career as a junior engineer on ocean-going ships of several types, eventually rising to the position of Chief Engineer on VLCCs. His diverse experience includes serving as a senior marine systems design engineer at a Singapore shipyard, a fleet manager in a tanker company and attended numerous dockings. His tenure with ABS, a London-based classification society, involved multitude of plan approval tasks for various ship types, notably including the first five LNG carriers built at Hudong Shipyard in Shanghai. Prabhjot is also an ABS-qualified maritime auditor with extensive experience in ISM, ISPS, and HSEQ audits.

His significant LNG newbuilding experience includes involvement in the construction of 45 LNG carriers of Q-Flex and Q-Max design, the largest in the world, featuring the first-ever onboard reliquefaction plants for Qatargas (a joint venture with QP, ExxonMobil, Shell, and Conoco Phillips). This groundbreaking megaproject, conducted at three of the world’s largest shipyards—HHI, Samsung, and DSME—earned him high acclaim for his contributions.

Prabhjot has also held the position of Head of Marine Engineering at Kellogg Brown & Root in London, where he worked on offshore projects such as FLNGs, the conversion of LNGCs to FSRUs (Woodfibre), and VLCCs to FPSOs (Santos).

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to marine engineering, Prabhjot has received the prestigious Hind Rattan (Jewel of India) award from Hon. I.K. Gujral, the former Prime Minister of India, on the eve of India’s Republic Day. He has also been honoured with the Award of Excellence in the field of Marine Engineering from S. Tarlochan Singh, Chairman of the Minority Commission.
